Idaho Angler: The Shop for Fly Fishing Enthusiasts
No doubt, fly-fishing has truly invaded the world of outdoor activities for the nature lovers. Fly-fishing is
one activity that needs some modern equipment. With the many shops that deal with different things for your
fly-fishing activity, one of the most relied upon is the Idaho Angler. The Idaho Angler is a shop whose mission is
to practically enhance their client’s fly-fishing activities, while promoting fishing waters and fish
conservation.
The Idaho Angler was introduced to the public around June of 1993 in the heart of Boise, Idaho.
Some four close friends, all of whom are fly-fishing lovers, basically founded the shop. The four fly-fisher
enthusiasts are Don and Knickrehm, John Croner and Ken Pulsley, each having their respective successful careers in
their own fields of endeavors. The Idaho Angler shop was actually created out of the four friends’ experiences in
fly-fishing in some parts of the western United States, Alaska, and some other salt-water locations. The friends
have observed keenly some great and helpful shops around fly-fishing destinations. They soon realized that they,
too, could actually open a shop in the Southwest Idaho location, particularly in Boise.
Without wasting much time, the four fly-fishing enthusiasts have invested for the Idaho Angler shop. Their shop
basically provides the best customer service with the most accurate fishing information. After a few years, the
founder of the Idaho Angler shop has started to open its doors for another useful help to their customers, this
time by offering fly-fishing classes. These particular classes do not only train the higher-level fly-fishers, but
also those fly-fishers to be. The Idaho Angler shop basically offers complete and extensive arrays of the best
fly-fishing, plus an environment that can truly make anybody’s shopping experience, a truly hassle-free one. Three
years after, in 1997, Shauna and Rick Williams, also devoted fly-fishers, came into the picture. Being a degree
holder of fish genetics, and at the same time, an author for fish conservation publications, Rick Williams was made
the instructor for the Idaho Angler class for fly-fishing.
In 1999, the Idaho Angler shop’s first branch was opened in Vista Avenue. The location is considered the gateway
boulevard to Boise, and provided better rooms, outdoor casting areas, and easier access for customers. By then,
Shauna Williams and Don Knickherm, both earned their own certificate of being Casting Instructors. The Idaho Angler
shop’s manager, Tim Blount, is also a master in the field of fly tier, and his fly patterns have already been
featured on some major fly-fishing publications.
At present, the Idaho Angler shop has continued to expand its range in providing their clients with the best
products, along with the most superb customer service. They have continuously expand their clinics as well as their
classes, plus providing the best of the latest fly-fishing information.
